ABOUT ABOUT

Be part of the conversation with author Carmen Maria Machado on April 21 at the Philadelphia History Museum. Join us for a reading from her debut short story collection Her Body and Other Parties, followed by a Q&A discussion.

NPR states that her “stories build and build until they surround and ensnare, and at the end you’re always glad to be all tangled up.” Machado is a fiction writer, critic, and essayist that has appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Granta, AGNI, NPR, Los Angeles Review of Books, VICE, and elsewhere.

Being the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the CINTAS Foundation Fellowship in Creative Writing, Machado is an empowering voice for all, as she connects with her audience on a personal level. “Being a writer was just in me,” she shared in an interview with AL DÍA News Media.

Join us for literature, wine, and good conversation! Registration is required.
